7th IFFK

'Orphan of Anyang' bags the Suvarna Chakoram
The curtain fell on the 7th International Film Festival of Kerala with the Chinese film, Orphan of Anyang, directed by Wang Chao, bagging the Suvarna Chakoram , and a cash award of Rs. 1,000,000/- (about US $ 25,000) for the best feature film.

Khaled Ghorbal, the Tunisian director for his film, Fatma, won the RAJATA CHAKORAM and a cash award of Rs. 300,000/- (about US $ 6,000) for the best director.
Young Argentinian Director, Gabriela David for her film, Taxi, an Encounter, won the The Special Jury Prize - A RAJATA CHAKORAM and a cash award of Rs. 200,000/-
(about US $ 4,000) to a person who has excelled in any area of filmmaking.

Taxi, an Encounter also won the FIPRESCI award.

T.V.Chandran, the Indian director for his film, Danny, won the RAJATA CHAKORAM and a cash award of Rs. 100,000/- (about US $ 2,000) as the AUDIENCE PRIZE to the director of a film that is voted by the delegates of the festival as the Best Entry in competition.
